Bio:
Andre’ has always had a love for music of all kinds. From listening to his parent’s 45s and LPs around the house to getting his first hip hop tape from his older sister; it has always been about the quality of the music. He played several instruments growing up but music eventually took a back seat to athletics and academia, but with life being the way it is, things quickly changed. An injury on top of trying to pay for tuition turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
It then started with a friend of a friend approaching him about playing music at a campus dining hall for some extra cash; the rest is history. In late 2007, he got his first real “gig” at Yeats’ Irish Pub in Chapel Hill on a Tuesday night. It quickly became one of the wildest nights in town. He then proceeded to hold residencies at nearly every major spot in the city. Then came The Library. Thanks to a few trips to Scratch Academy of Miami and the will to work for it, this is where he really started to settle into his own as a real DJ, not just someone playing music. The hard work was noticed; ZSpotlight.com named him “Triangle’s Club DJ of the Year”.
The beginning of 2010 is where it all started to fall into place.
A 2nd place finish in the first Mix Master Arts (MMA) battle garnered attention outside of his own town for the first time and it’s been a roller coaster ride since then. He then took 1st at another mix competition at the Winston Salem State Hip Hop Summit, opened for Kool Keith, Joe Scudda, 2AM Club, XV, Donnis, Chiddy Bang, Yelawolf and Wiz Khalifa at the legendary Cat’s Cradle, placed 3rd in Red Bull’s 3Style Battle in Charlotte on a last minute addition to the competition (4 hours notice and a 2 hour drive away), and got the nod from Red Bull NASCAR driver, Scott Speed, to DJ the “Energy Station” at the Coca-Cola 600. All signs point to a bright future for him and the Jukebox Heroes. Booking requests can be handled through the booking form
