Veronica Bermudez, known by her close friends as Vee and better known as VTECH, did not officially begin her electronic music career until the ripe age of 18. Although her musical roots stem back to her earlier days playing the piano and singing for local competitions, she never thought that being behind the turntables would change her life.
It began with the attendance of her first electronic music event, where the talent and energy emulating from the DJs performing that night struck a hidden nerve in Vee that would ultimately be a turning point in her life. It was then that she bought her first pair of turntables and begin shuffling through thrift stores, picking up old 80s records for as inexpensive as she could find. Slowly but surely, she taught herself the basics of beat matching and the art of song selection to create an atmosphere while performing a DJ set. Almost two years later, VTECH has played at many of the west coasts hottest dance and mainstream venue's along side many notable DJs/ Artists. VTECH has been hired by Monster Energy and Caramba Tequila to do events as far as Pennsylvania, and in 2009 was hired by O'neill surfing company to DJ the grand opening of their new headquarters where she performed in front of dozens of celebrity motocross bikers, surfers and industry officials.
For Vee, performing in the mainstream music scene has been something that has come along with the territory, however, her real love lies with electronic music performance and production. She has slowly been adding to her growing collection of music production equipment where she has already started creating original bass lines and songs that are sure to catch the ears and hearts of dance music lovers around the globe. With her recognizable look and insatiable drive for success, she is definitely not one to fall under the radar amidst the increasingly popular DJ scene. Her love of the classic, crisp, hard hitting bass that initiated her into the industry still brings chills and a smile to VTECH, and she will no doubt be a force in the dance music scene for many years to come.
